Agastache ‘Blue Fortune’ is a superb clump-forming perennial known for its long-lasting spikes of soft violet-blue flowers, held above aromatic, anise-scented foliage. Its upright habit and generous flowering period from midsummer into autumn make it a standout in any sunny border or container. This variety is highly attractive to pollinators, especially bees and butterflies, and offers strong vertical interest without being overpowering.

  • Height: 80–100cm
  • Spread: 40–50cm

Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Agastache prefers a spot with plenty of warmth and hates sitting in wet over winter, so add grit if planting in heavier soils or containers. Once established, it’s drought tolerant and requires little maintenance beyond a spring tidy-up. Avoid cutting back in autumn to help the crown survive colder winters – the seed heads also add structure and interest in the off-season.

Agastache ‘Blue Fortune’ works beautifully in prairie-style schemes, mixed perennial borders, or large containers. It combines especially well with ornamental grasses, Achillea, Echinacea, and Salvia. Try it in a pot near a seating area to enjoy its scent and the wildlife it attracts. Its soft lavender-blue tones also make it a great foil for brighter summer perennials.
