Agastache ‘Red Fortune’ is a bold and vibrant perennial, producing striking spikes of deep rose-pink to reddish-magenta flowers from midsummer through to early autumn. Its aromatic, dark green foliage releases a minty-anise scent when brushed, making it a sensory delight as well as a visual one. This upright grower is a magnet for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, and adds a punch of colour and height to mixed plantings.

  • Height: 80–90cm
  • Spread: 40–50cm

Thrives in full sun and free-draining soil. Perfect for hot, dry borders and containers where it won’t suffer from winter wet. Improve drainage in heavier soils by adding horticultural grit. Once established, it’s drought tolerant and easy to care for – simply cut back in early spring when new growth appears. Avoid autumn pruning to protect the crown from frost and enjoy the seed heads for added structure.

Agastache ‘Red Fortune’ is a brilliant choice for adding bold colour to prairie-style borders, gravel gardens, and sunny containers. Pair it with golden grasses like Stipa tenuissima, or contrast with purple-toned perennials like Salvia ‘Caradonna’ or Veronicastrum. It’s equally stunning in terracotta pots where its scent and colour can be enjoyed up close.
