Remove faded flower stems after blooming if desired, though they do not detract from the plant’s overall appearance. In early spring, remove any winter-damaged foliage to make room for new growth. Brunnera can be divided in early autumn or spring.

Ideal for planting under trees, along shady paths, or as ground cover in mixed shade borders. Combine with other shade-loving plants like Heuchera, Hosta, Pulmonaria, and ferns. The blue flowers make a striking spring combination with yellow or white bulbs like Narcissus or Anemone blanda. In containers, pair with silver-leaved or dark foliage plants for contrast and texture.
