A much-loved classic and one of the longest-flowering perennials you can grow, Erysimum 'Bowles’s Mauve' is an evergreen wallflower that delivers months of soft mauve-purple blooms. Held in upright spires above neat, grey-green foliage, the flowers begin in early spring and often continue right through to late autumn. Compact, drought-tolerant, and pollinator-friendly, it's a garden staple that brings reliable colour and structure to beds, borders, and containers alike.

Thrives in full sun and free-draining soil. Avoid heavy or waterlogged ground, especially in winter. Trim lightly after flowering to keep the plant compact and encourage fresh growth. Replace every few years as plants can become woody over time.

A brilliant partner for tulips in spring and a reliable performer in mixed borders all summer. Ideal in gravel gardens, Mediterranean-style schemes, or near paths where its subtle scent can be enjoyed. Try it with Nepeta, Salvia, or ornamental grasses for a soft, naturalistic effect.

Very long flowering period from early spring to late autumn. Evergreen. Hardy in most UK gardens, especially in sheltered, sunny spots. Loved by bees and butterflies, and an excellent low-maintenance plant for year-round interest.
