Salvia 'Blackberry Ripple' is an eye-catching perennial known for its striking bi-colored flowers, with deep purple and pink hues swirled together like a fruity ripple. Blooming from midsummer to autumn, these vibrant blooms rise above aromatic green foliage, creating a captivating display in borders, containers, or mixed planting schemes. This upright-growing salvia is adored by bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

  • Height: 80–100 cm
  • Spread: 50–70 cm

Plant Salvia 'Blackberry Ripple' in full sun to light shade in well-drained soil. It thrives in warm, sunny conditions but appreciates regular watering during prolonged dry spells, especially in its first year. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser in spring to encourage strong growth and flowering. Prune stems in late winter or early spring, cutting them back to just above the base before new growth emerges. Mulch in autumn to provide additional winter protection in colder climates.

Blackberry Ripple adds bold colour and height to cottage gardens, mixed borders, and large patio containers. Pair it with plants that contrast in texture and colour, such as echinacea, rudbeckia, or ornamental grasses. It also works beautifully alongside other salvias or as a standout feature in pollinator-friendly garden designs.
